Oh what a night. Early October back in '04. An absolutely superb evening, many thanks to all involved and all who showed up. You all made it a success. The following article is by Elly:

Parkway Station gave up its platforms for one night only and lent them to Rotaract/Rotaserv members! With mixed consequences!?!
A 70’s themed journey to the past for the Thirtieth Birthday Party of Bristol North West Rotaract caused great confusion (it don’t take much!) as members stood scratching their heads trying to work out whether new potential members had turned up for the night, or current members were hiding under glorious Afro wig’s and false eyelashes, or perhaps had entered an episode of ‘Shaft’.
The club’s chosen charity for the year the ‘Tiny Lives Campaign’ was to benefit from a ‘heads and tails’ game and a lolly tree (yum). Also a raffled myriad of prizes generously donated by local companies including the Thistle Hotel, Holiday Inn Hotel, Filton, the Relaxation Centre, Gloucestershire County Cricket Ground, Marks & Spencer, Cribbs Causeway, Bristol Packet, and Ferry Boat companies, Bowlplex, Asda and the BBC.
As well as getting down and groovy on the dance floor, those cats generously put their hands in their pockets to benefit such a worthy cause.
Members new, old and potential united to enjoy the buffet, disco and, of course, the obligatory Birthday cake.
The only regret of the night seemed to be when the pub’s license ran out, the disco stopped playing and everybody hung up their platform shoes, wigs and shades. Some even attempted to walk out still in full garb, or perhaps just to take their platforms back to the Station!
