TLC Cheque Presentation Jan 06Return to Past Events page
The Tiny Lives Campaign yesterday received a healthy boost to their campaign
by way of a donation rasied by Bristol Northwest Rotaract/Rotaserv. The
1286.82 was raised by club members, mainly from the club's 30th Birthday
party disco, but also from other social events such as pancake evenings,
games nights and other themed events. The Clubs (Rotaract is for 18-30 year
olds, Rotaserv for 30-40 year olds) meet together on the second and fourth
Wednesdays of each month at the Civil Service Social Club in Horfield. The
aim of the Clubs is to raise money for Charity while having fun. This years
President, Pete Wright, said 'The clubs are always looking for new members,
and we'd like to invite anyone interested in giving their social life a
boost, to meet us at The Piano and Pitcher on Wednesday 1st February, even
if people just want to come and see what we're about.' Karen Willis from TLC
at Southmead Hospital said 'This is a great donation for TLC, but we still
need to raise another 200k to reach the 1.2 million target, it shows that
raising money can be both enjoyable and worthwhile!'
